Shame on them!!!

DUP backs government terror plans

The British Government or more importantly Gordon Brown, Prime Minister, who has staked his reputation on securing a House of Commons vote to extend anti-terrorist legislation to allow for suspects to be held for up to 42 days before they are charged with an offence.

This is Britain in 2008. 42 days in custody before you are charged with an offence, 42 days on continuous questioning.

The vote was won by the Government but only after the 9 DUP members from Northern Ireland voted with them. The majority was 9. more here

There has been a lot of speculation that Gordon Brown has given the DUP secret promises in return for their votes.

Hopefully the unelected House of Lords will ensure this decision is reversed.
