In the Rossdale area of Ballymena, a proliferation of flags have appeared in the run-up to the period known as the "marching season"...its a mixed community, its non-social housing, its just not the place flags are usually an issue...but over recent years, the local community association have been working with other partners to agree a flag policy...but some people think they know better.
This year flags appeared in June, and some residents don't want them near their homes, someone from the community association objected, her house and car have been vandalised and late last night shots fired through the living room window.
Flags should fly free. Should not be forced upon anyone. This incident demonstrates the fragility of peace. We must not let these scumbags win.
