Host UK visit 3

I hosted my 3rd student this summer, it had been an unexpected visit as I had already completed 2 other visits in 2011 so hadn\'t been anticipating others.

It went well, we weren\'t strangers as we had become Facebook friends prior to the visit. This really helps melt any ice, gives us both the opportunity to put a face to the name and to plan trips to ensure the visit is a success.

We had some beautiful September weather, which meant trips to the Giant\'s Causeway and North Antrim coast were that but more special. We also visited Ballintoy and has plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery that I take for granted which completely stuns the students.

I took Bo on a short tour of Stormont where the NI Assembly meets. The tour lasts about 30 mins and is free.

As well as this we visited other sites in Belfast linked to our political disturbances from the 60\'s thru to late 90\'s. I decided that I might not take my future student guests on the political tour of Belfast\'s troubled past as for some it has little or no interest. Belfast is an exciting city and is developing many great cultural experiences, each time I bring a student we discover something new together.

Hosting is a great opportunity to give students a taste of Irish hospitality and to learn a little bit about the students country and culture. I\'m looking forward to hosting more students in 2012.
