Time to go?

The plotting has begun in the corridors of the Palace of Westminster.
Labour backbench MPs, afraid that the Government's unpopularity will see them loose their seats in the next General election, are rumoured to be collecting signatures to ask Justice Secretary - Jack Straw to challenge the Prime Minister to an election for the leadership of the party, the winner would then become Prime Minister.
Its unlikely the country would accept another change in leader and PM without a General Election, in the UK, their is no constitutional requirement to hold an election, when the Prime Minister is changed mid-term. That's now PM Brown got the job in the first place, but a second change would be very unpalatable.
