for the times they are a changing...

The annual Belfast Pride parade took place today, more here, against the backdrop of homophobic remarks from Iris Robinson and a full page advert by the Free Presbyterian Church in yesterday's Newsletter.

Its a positive thing for Belfast, the expression and acceptance of minority rights is a forward step towards a pluralist and progressive society. Carson must be spinning in his grave.

Let's not forget that Orange marches are still taking place against the wishes of others, bonfires topped with flags (British or Irish) being burnt, hatred against others because of religious views or political opinion. Many of the protestors here today would still be having us back in the 1960's where few had the right to express any opinion and Nationalists were considered an irritation that should be ignored.
