No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs

A sign went up in South Belfast today, the property is for rent, it stated "no foreigners", it has been rightly condemned but is indicative of the problems we have with racism in our society.



In the 1960's it wasn't uncommon for people from this island who had travelled to England for work to discover signs on boarding houses, "No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs"....how soon we forget. We need to welcome migrants to our country, we need the labour force...and they need somewhere to live.
