sarajevo tunnel

A few photos from my tour of the sarajevo tunnel. The city was under seige for 1,400 days. The only thing separating the encirclement by serbian forces was the un troops at the airport. They had reached an agreement with the serbs to hold it. As the bosnians couldnt use it they decided to dig a tunnel to bring much needed food and other supplies to sarajevo. The stuff of legend and it was all underneath the house me a wed old lady bit like my friend rosher lol.
Oh happy birthday rosher. You dont even look 50!


It puts into context the pathetic situation in Ireland...in the conflict here over 10,000 people died in 4 years...
